So far so good..

Prayer is powerful!! I had prayed for the whole week, everyday before starting work, that my boss will not ask me too much abt the current project, that she won't nag at me. I didn't wan any distraction or her affecting my mood for work. I also pray that I'll do my work smoothly and have clarity of mind to do the job well, and also not to get stuck on any part of the program. Basically, everything will be god. Guess what? I have the most peaceful, happy week in a long while. The boss seems too be of cheerful mood, and doesn't nag at all!! Prayer is powerful sia.. must do more of this.. trust the power of prayer!!

hmm... Interesting....

Arranged since last week by Merv and CS to meet up today cos Laura is in town! If I’m not wrong, she’s here to take an exam of sorts.

I was on the way to meet the guys at Orchard. I took out my book to read, a book on the Christian church in Nazi Germany. I was standing at the side, facing the seats reading the book. Suddenly, the man sitting in front of me talked to me. I was a bit slow, cos I totally dun expect anyone to talk to me, some more he’s a Caucasian. I dun know many Caucasians. He repeated himself, saying that he can’t read my book cover with me keep moving around. So, I held the book steady for him. When he’s finished, he told me some interesting stuff. He mentioned that actually the western leaders were glad that Hitler took power, cos they hoped he’ll lead Germany out of the economic mess it was in, which he did. (I hoped I heard correctly cos the train was quite noisy). Then he mentioned that the US has a facilitator, I think, to Germany to facilitate conducting businesses in the country. And guess what? That guy is the grandfather of President Bush!! Then he mentioned that industrialists supported Hilter cos they believed he can help build up the economy, which he did. American industrialists were there also, and one of them happen to be some ancestor of Kennedy (didn’t catch which Kennedy is it)! He mentioned that when reading a book, there’s always a bias to it. He told me to note what is the bias in the book I was reading, and also read other books to get the whole picture. (Wisdom of the day man! Hehe..)

While the train was reaching Somerset, he stood up, and offered his hands to me to shake. I shook his hands and commented that he must have read a lot of books! He said, that’s cos he used to be a teacher (no wonder!!). then he passed me a slip of paper, and said that I can contact him to talk more. (up to now, I haven’t tried.. me shy… hee)

Reached Orchard and called the guys. Got to the Vietnamese restaurant that they were in. They were already halfway through the food. After I settle down for a short while, Pris thanked me for treating!! I was like, huh!?!?! Thinking… now… what happened before I came... what evil scheme did they think of before I arrived? (end up was nothing.. haha)

After finishing our meal, we still didn’t feel like going home, and so went to a pub for a drink. Me and Laura ordered a drink called the Honey Perrier. At first, when we thought it was honey with Perrier water, but when we asked the waitress, the ingredients sounded tasty. Immediately after hearing the ingredients, we decided on this drink (can’t rem what are them liao). We lingered for a long while, basically chatting and “wasting” our time. It was very late when we decided to go home. We said our goodbyes to Laura and split. CS and Merv took a cab, Laura also. Pris walked home (living so near orchard is such an advantage!! Hehe) and I took MRT.
