KL Trip Day 2
We arrive at Hotel Malaya at around 2am. The coach stopped at a road perpendicular to the hotel and we had to walk to the hotel. After some confusion on the hotel admin side, we managed to get our rooms. The rooms are better than what I was expecting, as my friends were describing this hotel until so jialat. I share the room with Jin Jin. After taking a bath and unpacking some stuff, we concussed on the bed.
We woke up a few hours later to have breakfast downstairs. The food was quite spartan. The organizers had arranged the coach to take us somewhere to shop. We were taken to Times Square. The place was huge, its a huge shopping mall with all kinds of shops. It even has a theme park housed inside. Hannah, Riane, Xavier, Isabelle, Timothy, some other kids and me went into the theme park to check it out. We tried out a lot of rides. I couldn't take some of the rides cos i was carrying some stuff (they have a rule that we mustn't carry pouches or things in our pockets for safety reason). I didn't even try the roller coaster!! The bumper car ride was fun though... hahaha
We went for lunch and went around shopping. We even walked to other buildings to check them out. We passed through a building with stuff that you'll see in Sim Lim Square in the past (i.e. shops selling pirated cds). We went back to Times Square again cos the bus will be waiting there to fetch us back to the hotel. I was still thinking abt the roller coaster ride, so I got Celia(Isabelle's mom) to go with me, and left my stuff with another kid's mom. One of the kids also follow us to go for it (even kids has more guts than me!!). The ride was fun with all the twisting and turning... it goes 360 degrees leh!! However Celia and me got a headache after that... haha
We went back to the hotel to rest and prepare to go for dinner. Hannah got me to accompany her to get perfume that she saw in the street market (Chee Cheong Gai) that was just outside our hotel, before the rest come down to meet to go for dinner. We went to a store and he offered 40 ringgit for a perfume that she asked. She tried to bargain, but the guy only lowered until about 20 to 30. she whispered to me that she saw somewhere selling 10 ringgit only, just that she saw it from the bus (i.e. too far away). So we walk off to go back hotel. That guy was persistent and chased us, and keep lowering the price until abt 15 ringgit. Hannah decided to buy, so we went back to take a look again. The guy sprayed the perfumes on Hannah's hands until there's no where left to spray. So, Hannah asked if she can spray on mine, i agreed. All this while of choosing I keep remind her of the time. We finally got the perfume and walked back. We were talking on the way back, some guy at one of the stalls selling DVDs heard what she said and repeated it loudly, and keep repeating it (think she's too pretty, and the guys are trying to flirt with her). We ignored that and kept walking. After apologizing to the others and explaining, we went about to find out food.
We couldn't find the stall that we wanted, so we went for alternative. We settled on a Bak Kut Teh shop. The food was superb man!!! I was thinking, "Singapore's one is just pepper soup!!" After dinner, we went shopping. There were a lot of things, but the shops repeat. Generally, they sell watches, bags, clothes, sunglasses, DVDs, CDs and souvenirs. I bought a shirt with "SWAT" on it. We retired to our hotel room after that, and prepared the stuff that we need for the competition tomorrow.
